Bulldog Facts:

The Bulldog Club, founded in England in 1875, was the first breed club for ANY breed of dog!

"It's all about the dog!"

Over the years we have had many dogs come and go through our breeding program. Some have left an indelible mark on our breeding program, others have moved on without becoming part of our current pedigrees. All have touched our hearts, as bulldogs are wont to do. Some have passed beyond the rainbow bridge, and we have a tribute to them.

Every true breeder has in their mind a vision of the ideal bulldog, and plan their breedings in an effort to create that elusive creature. Of course, there is no perfect bulldog, all of us have faults, but we can certainly approach the ideal. At Adoreabull, our ideal is the bulldog who has the strength of body to play and run and breathe while meeting the standard for conformation, and the strength of character to be a good family pet. Not every dog meets those expectations, every litter is a matter of trial and error. The true test of a breeder is not how they deal with success, but rather how they deal with failure. There have been disappointments, mistakes, and failed lines. There have been wonderful successes. We can only hope that the successes continue to outweigh the failures as we plod along in our effort to breed the best bulldog.

It has been an incredible joy for us to have one of our dogs recognized for his quality both in Canada and the US, as Crusader works his way towards his American championship after having finished 2007 as the #1 Bulldog in Canada, and one of the top 10 Non-Sporting dogs, his wins including a Best In Show. We only regret that previous dogs we produced that were of equal caliber never got the opportunity to campaign...Cru was not produced overnight, he reflects the contributions of the four generations of Adoreabull bulldogs that preceded him. But, raising a family took priority in our lives. The future looks very bright with the assistance of Trevor and Mary Harris, who are friends and family more than they are just handlers, and are giving us the chance to honour our dogs through winning in the ring.
